What You Will Be Doing:

  • Managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Maintaining database integrity and security, configuring role-based access control (RBAC), and setting up administrative accounts.
  • Setting up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintaining documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures.
  • Interacting with users and evaluating vendor products.
  • Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Developing and implementing testing strategies and documenting results.
  • Providing advice on performance tuning and training to end-users.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Evaluating open-source or vendor tools and participating in database migration/special modernization projects.
  • Collaborating with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
  • Planning and executing database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in on-call rotations for after-hours support.


Required Skills

Must Have:

  • MUST HAVE a Current and Active Top Secret SCI with Polygraph, as the customer is NOT sponsoring clearances.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 5 + years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.
  • PostgreSQL experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
  • Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions.
  • Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts.
  • Experience with Database backup, restore, migration, and Database snapshot technologies/strategies.
  • Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data.
  • Knowledge of Oracle 19c administration and performance tuning.
  • Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgresSQL.

  • Oracle database administration.

Compensation & Benefits: This position has an anticipated salary range of $125,800 - $170,200 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, education, certifications, and business needs.
