Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate within the Department of Radiation Oncology, Feng Laboratory at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.

The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Associate position is to conduct independent laboratory research under the direction of the principal investigator. The research interest of the Feng lab is to study the development and progression of cancer, including cancer metastasis, cancer metabolic reprogramming and tumor microenvironment. Specific research directions in the lab include: 1) the regulation and function of tumor suppressor p53 and its gain-of-function mutants in cancer; 2) the role of tumor suppressors, including p53 and its target genes, in tumor microenvironment and tumor immunology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Works under the direction of the principal investigator.
  • Carries out various experimental and bioinformatics studies in the area of 1) the regulation and function of tumor suppressor p53 and its gain-of-function mutants in cancer; 2) the role of tumor suppressors, including p53 and its target genes, in tumor microenvironment and tumor immunology.
  • Prepares written reports of research experiments.
  • Prepares grant proposals based on research conducted.
  • Gives oral presentations of the research.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • PhD degree required.
  • Consideration to interview will also be given to applicants who are in the process of completing their PhD degree. Documentation of PhD degree completion must be provided prior to commencement of employment.
  • Strong background in molecular biology and cancer biology, required.
