Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:30:00 AM - 5:00:00 AM)

Pay Range: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

The pay range for each role reflects Rush's anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.

The successful candidate will apply their expertise in bioinformatics to analyze animal tissue samples generated from studies investigating osteoarthritis and/or gastrointestinal metabolism. The position involves integrating and interpreting high-throughput biological data to support research objectives and advance our understanding of disease mechanisms and metabolic processes. The successful candidate will work closely with other laboratory members, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project goals. In addition to bioinformatics responsibilities, the candidate will assist with animal surgeries, post-surgical monitoring and care, and tissue sample collection and processing. This position offers a dynamic, interdisciplinary research setting that combines computational analysis with hands-on preclinical research and tissue-based approaches.

Summary:
This position may perform independent research, collaborate on a multi-scholar research initiative, or may have lead responsibility for discrete components of a larger research projects or programs, all while under the general direction of a senior or principal researcher.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in discovery projects.

• Prepare complete documentation of research activities for reference purposes, including following applicable data management protocols.
• Oversee organization, synthesis and analysis of data and findings.
• Compare actual and expected results and suggest solutions to correct the deviations.
• Evaluate existing research or modeling techniques and recommend improvements to ensure quality and productivity.
• Prepare scientific reports, outcome findings and scientific manuscripts.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and reports.
• Assist in teaching classes.
• Perform other duties as assigned
