ACADEMIC NON-INVASIVE CARDIOLOGIST

Banner University Medical Center Tucson

The University of Arizona Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology and Banner University Medical Center, Tucson is seeking an Academic Cardiologist to provide patient care, teaching and research. The successful candidate will provide cardiology and non-interventional cardiac care to both inpatients and outpatients, participate in activities of the cardiology section, conduct research and perform academic responsibilities as well as all duties of a staff cardiologist. Banner University Medical Center - Tucson is a highly respected multi-disciplinary team of physicians.

Essential Functions and Qualifications:
- Board-certified/board-eligible General Cardiologist
- Level III Echocardiography training/certification
- Mid career physician with established expertise in cardiovascular imaging
- Strong interest in advancing echocardiography services and quality initiatives
- Experience with emerging and advanced echo modalities, including strain imaging, 3D echocardiography, structural heart imaging support, and other developing technologies
- Interest in physician education, protocol development, quality improvement, and standardization of imaging practices

Potential responsibilities for the Echo Imaging Director effort could include:
- Oversight of echocardiography quality and accreditation standards
- Development and implementation of imaging protocols and best practices
- Evaluation and adoption of new echocardiographic technologies and modalities
- Collaboration with sonographers, physicians, and operational leadership to improve efficiency and quality
- Support for physician and sonographer education
- Participation in strategic planning related to cardiovascular imaging growth and innovation
