Portfolio Advisory

JLL's Portfolio Advisory business partners with clients across industry sectors to enhance the performance of their real estate portfolios and people. Through a comprehensive global service delivery platform, Portfolio Advisory provides a diverse range of services, strategy and digital solutions that address the entire real estate cycle on a local to global scale for more than 500 clients across 80 countries. JLL is committed to creating, delivering, and managing environments that inspire people to do their best work.

The Opportunity

The Portfolio Strategy & Analytics Leader owns and grows JLL's portfolio strategy, market insights, benchmarking, consulting, and analytics capabilities for Portfolio Advisory clients. This is a builder role: the successful candidate will recruit, develop, and lead a team of strategists and analysts - establishing the standards, tools, and methodologies that make the practice scale.

Beyond building and leading the team, this person is a client-facing strategic advisor, engaging with Portfolio Advisory clients on their most complex portfolio decisions, and a visible face of JLL's capabilities in new business pursuits - leading discovery sessions and presenting directly to prospective clients. The role requires someone equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves on an analysis and standing in front of an executive audience representing the practice.

This position can be based in any major city for ease of collaboration with JLL colleagues and clients.

Primary Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Practice Building
  • Recruit, hire, and develop a team of strategists & analysts
  • Set the strategic direction, standards, and delivery methodology for the portfolio strategy, analytics, insights, and consulting practice

  • Build repeatable frameworks, tools, and playbooks that allow the team to scale delivery quality across a growing client base
  • Foster a culture of analytical rigor, client obsession, and continuous learning across the team

Strategic Portfolio Planning & Analytics
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio rationalization, consolidation, expansion, or geographic repositioning based on business requirements and market dynamics
  • Oversee portfolio assessments analyzing location strategy, space utilization, lease expiration profiles, occupancy costs, and operational efficiency for specific markets

  • Direct analysis of complex portfolio data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization
  • Oversee development of benchmarking analyses comparing client portfolio metrics against industry standards and best practices
  • Set standards for advanced analytics and visualization tools used to communicate insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders
  • Lead or contribute directly to high-stakes or high-complexity analyses when the situation calls for it

Market Intelligence & Benchmarking
  • Own JLL's approach to market insights and benchmarking for Portfolio Advisory clients (in collaboration with Research), ensuring it reflects current market trends, economic indicators, and industry developments
  • Provide perspective on emerging workplace trends, hybrid work strategies, and their implications for portfolio planning
  • Ensure market research is synthesized into actionable, differentiated insights that inform portfolio recommendations across the client base

Client Advisory & Consulting
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to client real estate and business leaders on their highest-priority portfolio decisions
  • Work with Transaction Management and brokers to ensure portfolio strategy recommendations integrate with account execution plans and TM workflow
  • Lead strategic planning workshops and executive presentations that facilitate decision-making and build consensus
  • Challenge conventional thinking and present innovative solutions that create value and differentiate JLL's portfolio advisory and consulting capabilities
  • Translate complex real estate concepts into business language that resonates with C-suite executives and cross-functional stakeholders

Collaboration & Solution Development
  • Serve as a visible, client-facing representative of JLL's portfolio strategy & analytics capabilities in new business pursuits
  • Participate in pitch strategy and delivery, presenting directly to prospective clients alongside account and pursuit teams
  • Contribute strategic portfolio, analytics, and consulting expertise to RFP responses and capability presentations
  • Develop compelling case studies and thought leadership content demonstrating the practice's strategic capabilities
  • Coordinate with JLL Technologies teams to leverage digital solutions and data platforms that enhance portfolio strategy and analytics capabilities

Thought Leadership & Innovation
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in corporate real estate portfolio management and analytics
