As a Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager, you will support the growth and management of a commercial real estate lending portfolio by evaluating credit opportunities, monitoring portfolio performance, and partnering with Relationship Managers to deliver exceptional client service. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex lending transactions, build strong client relationships, and advance your commercial banking expertise.
Key Accountabilities- Analyze borrower, guarantor, property, and market data to evaluate new loan requests, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews.
- Prepare comprehensive credit presentations and recommendations that support sound lending decisions.
- Monitor portfolio performance and maintain accurate risk ratings to proactively identify potential concerns.
- Partner with Relationship Managers to support client retention, portfolio growth, and exceptional client experiences.
- Manage portfolio administration activities in compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Review loan repayment trends, property performance, and borrower financial condition to identify risks and opportunities.
- Support due diligence efforts for new business opportunities and contribute to special projects as needed.
- Present credit recommendations and participate in the loan approval process when appropriate.
Education & ExperienceRequired- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4+ years of commercial real estate lending, credit analysis, or credit approval experience.
- 4+ years of experience managing or analyzing complex commercial credit relationships.
- Strong financial analysis, risk assessment, and relationship management skills.
- Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel as needed.
Preferred- 3+ years of sales, business development, or client relationship management experience.
- Formal credit training experience.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior team members.
