Full Job Description
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly analytical, and entrepreneurial Portfolio Manager to join our ETF investment team and help build the next generation of options-based ETFs in the Americas.

This role combines day-to-day portfolio management responsibilities with product innovation, quantitative research, and ETF business development. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role managing ETF portfolios, overseeing basket activity and fund operations, developing new investment solutions, and partnering across trading, capital markets, product, compliance, and risk teams to deliver best-in-class client outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing platform at a pivotal stage and directly influence the future direction of options-based investing, including buffer ETFs, income solutions, defined outcome products, and other innovative derivatives-based strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management
  • Serve as a portfolio manager for a range of ETF strategies, including options and swap-based, and outcome-oriented investment solutions.
  • Oversee daily portfolio management activities, including portfolio monitoring, rebalancing, trading decisions, cash management, and risk oversight.
  • Monitor portfolio exposures, derivatives positions, liquidity, and risk metrics to ensure alignment with investment objectives and guidelines.
  • Support trading activities across equities, ETFs, listed options, FLEX options, and related instruments.

Product Development & Innovation
  • Partner closely with Product Development to design, launch, and enhance innovative ETF solutions.
  • Research and develop new investment concepts focused on options-based investing, income generation, downside protection, and outcome-oriented strategies.
  • Evaluate competitive products and identify emerging opportunities within the ETF marketplace.
  • Collaborate with index providers and research partners on the development of new benchmarks and investment methodologies.

Research & Analytics
  • Conduct quantitative research on options-based strategies and portfolio construction methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain backtesting frameworks to evaluate strategy performance across varying market environments.
  • Analyze option pricing, volatility dynamics, market structure, and trading implementation considerations.
  • Provide investment insights that contribute to portfolio enhancements and new product development.

Capital Markets & ETF Ecosystem
  • Partner with Capital Markets teams to enhance ETF liquidity, trading efficiency, and market quality.
  • Work closely with market makers, authorized participants, and liquidity providers to improve ETF execution and secondary market trading.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable ETF operating and trading processes.

Risk Management & Operational Excellence
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to strengthen controls and minimize operational risk.
  • Enhance portfolio management processes to improve scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in investment oversight and governance processes to ensure adherence to investment guidelines, regulatory requirements, and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Help establish best practices for managing increasingly complex options-based ETF portfolios.

Qualifications

Required
  • Experience managing options-based strategies, buffer ETFs, covered call ETFs, structured outcome products, or related investment solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of listed options, derivatives, volatility markets, and portfolio risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex portfolios and make sound investment decisions in dynamic market environments.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred
  • Experience in portfolio management, ETF management, derivatives investing, quantitative investing, indexing, or related investment disciplines.
  • Experience working with ETF creation/redemption baskets and ETF trading workflows.
  • Experience partnering with capital markets, trading desks, and liquidity providers.
  • Experience with indexing, rules-based investing, or index research.
  • Experience conducting options research and developing quantitative backtesting frameworks.
  • CFA designation or progress toward completion.

What Success Looks Like

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing option-implied volatility, reviewing ETF basket activity, designing a new investment strategy, troubleshooting operational challenges, and collaborating with product teams on the next generation of ETF offerings. You are intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and motivated by the opportunity to help build a market-leading platform for options-based ETFs. Most importantly, you are excited by the challenge of turning innovative investment ideas into scalable, investable products that deliver meaningful outcomes for clients.

Salary Range:
$120,000 - $202,500 Annual
