Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join the Highlands Ranch, CO Environmental Team. As a Portfolio Manager, you will work with a dynamic and growing team to support projects through all phases of the site evaluation and remediation life cycle. This role is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual seeking career growth in environmental consulting and the environmental remediation market.

In this full-time position, you will lead a team of technicians, professionals, and experts to execute work across multiple sites, managing environmental investigation, remediation, reclamation, and regulatory compliance efforts. You will collaborate closely with technical experts, regulators, and clients to address each site's unique characteristics and challenges. This role will focus on strategic advisory, leadership, and project execution.

Role accountabilities:

As a Portfolio Manager, you will bring exceptional attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to excel as a productive leader of a high-performance team.

Successful candidates for this position will have prior experience in the environmental industry, including site evaluation, remediation, and project management. You will have a solid understanding of environmental investigation and remediation within the framework of Colorado State Oil and Gas and federal regulations. Key responsibilities of portfolio management include driving the schedule and budget to achieve regulatory outcomes for a portfolio of sites while ensuring strict adherence to health and safety requirements.

Your primary responsibilities will involve managing multiple project managers making up a portfolio of sites at various stages of environmental investigation, remediation, monitoring, and reclamation. You will work collaboratively with teams that include project managers, field technicians, field scientists, task managers, assistant project managers, and technical experts to execute project tasks effectively. Throughout this process the portfolio manager will be responsible for timely client and regulatory communications and management of program budgets, forecasts, and milestones.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting project managers on portfolio scope, schedule, and budgets for tasks such as site investigation, site remediation, and other fieldwork.
  • Corresponding with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to achieve efficient outcomes.
  • Staying apprised of changes in regulatory requirements
  • Overseeing project financial management and ensuring accountability at the portfolio level.
  • Ensuring timely and quality technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates across the portfolio.
  • Collaborating on work schedules with Arcadis staff and subcontractors.
  • Upholding a high standard for our health and safety culture and adherence to our internal and client health and safety programs.

While this position is primarily office-based, working directly with our clients either in the field or at their offices as well as occasional field site visits throughout northern Colorado may be required to ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, verify quality of work execution, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in environmental consulting preferred.
  • 8+ years of project management experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with clients in the oil and gas market sector
  • Familiarity with site evaluation and restoration within the upstream oil and gas industry, and the associated hazards and controls with execution of work.
  • Expertise with Colorado State environmental regulations - Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) rules, specifically 900 and 1000 series and associated form submittal process.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $102,400- $168,960. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
