You will manage the overall portfolio rhythm, support capacity and sequencing decisions, oversee contract project managers where applicable, and directly manage select high-priority projects when needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

Portfolio Planning & Governance

  • Establish and manage portfolio governance routines, including status reporting, steering committee preparation, leadership updates, and escalation forums.

Sequencing, Dependency & Resource Management

  • Identify and monitor cross-project dependencies across Finance, Accounting, Technology, Data, Reporting, Controls, and Change Management workstreams.

  • Highlight capacity risks, competing priorities, and over-allocation concerns early so leadership can make informed trade-off decisions.

Project Delivery Management

  • Directly manage select Finance Transformation initiatives from planning through execution, go-live, and stabilization.

  • Develop project plans, RAID logs, milestone trackers, decision logs, dependency maps, and executive-level status updates.

  • Drive accountability for project deliverables, timelines, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement.

Oversight of Contract Project Managers

  • Provide day-to-day coordination and delivery oversight for contract project managers supporting Finance Transformation initiatives.

  • Establish common project management standards, templates, reporting expectations, and governance routines across internal and external PM resources.

Risk, Issue & Decision Management

  • Maintain portfolio-level visibility into risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies that may affect delivery timing, scope, cost, controls, or adoption.

  • Escalate material risks and decisions in a timely, structured, and business-oriented way.

  • Facilitate issue resolution across Finance, Technology, Data, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Serve as a central coordination point across Finance Transformation initiatives.

  • Prepare clear, concise, executive-ready updates for Finance Transformation leadership and steering committees.

  • Promote transparency, accountability, and constructive problem-solving across project teams.

Delivery Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain standard project management artifacts, templates, status reporting formats, and portfolio governance practices.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify delivery processes, reduce duplication, and improve execution discipline.

Your skills and abilities should include:

  • PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or other project / portfolio management certification preferred but not required.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, portfolio management, finance transformation, business transformation, consulting, or finance operations.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives involving Finance, Technology, Data, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing project managers, workstream leads, vendors, or contract delivery resources preferred.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, accounting cycles, reporting timelines, and operational dependencies.
  • Experience with portfolio governance, RAID management, status reporting, resource planning, and executive-level communications.
