Job Description

This individual will be expected to provide regular communication and presentation of industrial ship repair and shipbuilding assessment reports to senior level executives in an accurate, concise, and understandable manner. In addition, this person will act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to assigned program area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Perform independent research using a variety of sources to write reports regarding shipbuilding and ship repair operations to provide strategic, financial and investment insight into the Navy's ship repair and shipbuilding industrial base.
  • Conduct strategic and financial analyses, and advise client on investments/investment strategies of Naval ship repair and shipbuilding facilities.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolios of Naval ship repair and shipbuilding facilities to determine performance and risk across a wide range of portfolios.
  • Independently assess major ship repair and shipbuilding facilities to produce and deliver research reports, presentations and briefs with little or no direction.
  • Summarize information into existing report formats to include assessment of operational and financial performance, financial health, financial trends, and implications for the Navy.
  • Produce written product deliverables for NAVSEA and other Navy / DoD stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in meetings with NAVSEA customers, teammates and other key stakeholders to continuously stay abreast of constantly changing customer schedules and requirements.
  • Lead business review sessions with key stakeholders to help understand business performance and risk by segments and assist with formulation of action plans.
  • Attend several training and orientation sessions sponsored by NAVSEA to stay abreast of the NAVSEA organization, best practices, and big picture.


Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with managerial, accounting, business economics, or industrial concepts to review, analyze and assess company financial statements, company prepared documents, and industry related information.
  • Strong technical and/or business writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and active listening communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with strong emotional and cultural intelligence.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving ability; and ability to think on your feet and make good decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented with a strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Financial report analysis and financial reporting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams) and the ability to create graphs and tables using Excel.
  • Ability to build professional networks.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
