Full Job Description
Title: Policy Analyst
Salary: $68,263 - $85,328 - $93,861 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Vancouver Island, BC - Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA's flex work policy ( 3 days in the office, 2 days from home).

About the role
This newly created Policy Analyst role offers an exciting opportunity to support First Nations' self-determination in health service delivery. Working within the First Nations Health Policy team, you will help develop clinical, administrative, and community-level policies that enable Nations to design and deliver their own health programs. You will contribute to the rollout of the First Nations Primary Care Initiative on Vancouver Island, advance key regional strategic priorities through targeted policy and action planning and strengthen FNHA's internal operations by refining policies and processes. Success in this role requires strong policy development experience, cultural awareness and sensitivity, the ability to work collaboratively with emotional intelligence, and experience working with First Nations communities.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be:

Education & Occupational Certification, Experience (REQUIRED)
• University degree in Political Science, Public or Health Administration or Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• 3-5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Demonstrated experience working with First Nations leadership and communities
• Relevant and recent experience in analysis, ideally in the health sector or with First Nations issues and priorities
• Experience in research, writing, and note-taking

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
