Full Job Description
Behavioral Health Connections Georgia is recruiting a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for their Command Center located in Dunwoody, GA.

Position Overview:
  • Employment Type: W2 Employed
  • Schedule / Hours: onsite only, Monday-Friday, 3 PM - 11 PM shift, 40 hours per week, no call
  • Patient Volume: 15 on average
  • Location: Atlanta, GA (Dunwoody)
  • Practice Setting: 911 dispatch scenario, non-patient-facing position working at a Behavioral Command Center.
  • Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BC Psychiatrists, BH RNs, Master's level Social Workers, and additional support staff to coordinate patient travel to BH facility
  • EMR / Technology: Cerner
Responsibilities
  • NP will provide admission orders and initial medication orders upon review of clinical fax packet for the patient from an ER when the patient is deemed appropriate for admission from the RN's initial review. The PMHNP will review and determine all complicated patients and determine which one of our UHS stand-alone behavioral facilities will be the best option for the patient's care.
  • Collaborate with ER physicians, NPs, and support staff.
  • Document orders using Cerner

Position Requirements:
  • Master of Science in Nursing with certification as a Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with one of the accredited National Certification Organizations (ANCC, AANP) is required.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia; Certification with a National Certification Board
  • Unencumbered State of GA Licensed NP, expertise, or interest, in treating patients with mental illness and addictive disorders preferred.
