Plumbing Designer Job SummaryThe Plumbing Designer serves to focus primarily on the design of building-related projects, including educational campuses, military bases, healthcare facilities, hotels, apartment buildings, retail/commercial spaces, and more using Revit and AutoCAD software.
Responsibilities:- Design plumbing drawings for various building types
- Develop system design calculations and select equipment for use in buildings including sump pumps, sewage ejectors, water heating systems, water booster stations, etc.
- Preparation of detailed design documents
- Specification writing/editing
- Code compliance research
- Collaborate with various team members for coordinating services with other disciplines
- Site surveys to determine existing conditions
- Provide construction administration support including submittal reviews and RFI responses
Skills:- Familiarity with local and state codes, accepted standards and design guidelines
- Excellent work ethic and character
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others but also independently
- Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize obligations to meet deadlines
Qualifications and Experience:- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in plumbing design for various types of facilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office software
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (a plus but not required)
- EIT / PE a plus but not required
- Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and experience in a broad spectrum of building types
Location: Vista, CA
Travel: up to 10%
Compensation & Benefits:The expected base salary range for this role is
$45 - $50 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
