In this position...

This role will serve as the single-threaded owner for Atlassian DX tooling, with accountability for platform strategy, ecosystem integration, enterprise adoption, and actionable developer productivity insights for engineering leadership.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on shaping how Ford's software engineering teams measure, understand, and improve the way they work. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on platform engineering experience with the ability to translate developer productivity data into clear, executive-ready insights and practical improvement opportunities for teams across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Own the Developer Experience roadmap, including intelligence, productivity, health reporting, and leadership insights.
  • Integrate Developer Experience (DX) with Ford's engineering toolchain, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), source control, observability, and deployment workflows.
  • Administer and optimize Atlassian Cloud products at enterprise scale, including Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Atlassian Analytics.
  • Define and operationalize DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA), Satisfaction, Performance, Activity, Communication, and Efficiency (SPACE), and Developer Experience (DevEx) metrics to improve delivery performance and developer flow.
  • Deliver executive reporting that connects platform data to business outcomes, engineering effectiveness, and risk reduction.
  • Drive adoption across 1,000+ engineers through enablement, documentation, office hours, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage the service catalog and component inventory, including ownership, health scorecards, standards, and governance.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to turn productivity signals into process, tooling, and platform improvements.
  • Evaluate and roll out Atlassian Marketplace applications, integrations, and capabilities that improve engineering experience.
  • Own the Atlassian Developer Experience (DX) vendor relationship, including roadmap alignment, escalations, beta programs, and feedback loops.


Qualifications

You'll have...

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study.

Experience:
  • 7+ years' experience in platform engineering, developer tooling, DevOps [Development and Operations], internal tools, or a closely related software delivery role.
  • 5+ years' experience administering Atlassian Cloud products at enterprise scale, including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.
  • 5+ years' experience deploying, operating, or scaling developer productivity platforms or internal developer portals for large engineering organizations.
  • 3+ years' experience of software delivery lifecycle metrics, including DORA [DevOps Research and Assessment] metrics, cycle time, deployment frequency, lead time, and change failure rate.
  • 3+ years' experience integrating engineering tools across CI/CD [Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery], source control, observability, deployment, service management, and reporting platforms.

  • Experience with Atlassian DX [Developer Experience], Atlassian Compass, Backstage, Port, or similar internal developer portal and developer intelligence platforms.
  • Background supporting automotive, regulated engineering, or other large-scale enterprise software delivery environments.
  • Familiarity with developer experience research and measurement approaches, including the DevEx [Developer Experience] framework, DX [Developer Experience] Core 4, experience sampling, and qualitative feedback methods.
  • Atlassian certifications such as ACP [Atlassian Certified Professional]-620, ACP [Atlassian Certified Professional]-100, or similar platform administration credentials.
  • Experience with Forge or Connect app development, Atlassian REST [Representational State Transfer] APIs [Application Programming Interfaces], GraphQL [Graph Query Language] APIs [Application Programming Interfaces], automation, scripting, or custom reporting integrations.
  • Exposure to measuring adoption, productivity impact, or engineering effectiveness of AI [Artificial Intelligence]-assisted development tooling.
  • Ability to translate technical platform capabilities, usage patterns, and productivity data into business outcomes for non-technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, operations, and leadership audiences..


This posting is for an existing vacancy within our team.

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $105,000.00 to $155,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.

Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
