Who You Will Work With:
The Platform Services & Cloud Engineering, Senior Specialist is accountable for designing, building, and supporting scalable, secure cloud infrastructure that underpins Interac’s Data, Analytics, and AI platform. This role enables reliable, compliant, and high-performing data, analytics, and AI capabilities through cloud engineering best practices, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
Working closely with Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, Information Security, Architecture, and Data & AI stakeholders, this role ensures platform services are resilient, secure by design, operationally robust, and aligned to enterprise standards while supporting efficient delivery and continuous improvement.
What YouWillDo:
Designing, building, and enhancing cloud infrastructure in AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform).
Implementing scalable and secure platform foundations, across networking, storage, and compute.
Developing reusable engineering patterns, including CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and IaC modules.
Enabling platform integrations and hybrid connectivity across identity, networking, data movement, observability, and enterprise systems.
Implementing and maintaining security controls, including encryption, access management, network segmentation, and vulnerability management.
Ensuring platform designs align with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS).
Partnering with Information Security and architecture to maintain compliance and governance guardrails.
Supporting platform operations through monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Providing L2/L3 support for production issues, including root cause analysis and remediation.
Participating in an on-call rotation to support platform availability and service continuity.
Contributing to technical design discussions and aligning solutions with architectural best practices.
Collaborating with engineering, platform, and operations teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.
Creating and maintaining documentation for platform architecture, operational processes, and engineering standards.
Providing guidance to peers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and adoption of best practices.
WhatYou Bring:
Bachelors degree required, with Engineering, Computer Science, Programming/Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or related disciplines.
Strong AWS infrastructure knowledge, including IAM, VPC, S3, KMS, CloudWatch, and networking patterns such as PrivateLink, Transit Gateway, NAT Gateway, Route 53, and hybrid connectivity.
Strong cloud engineering and SRE mindset focused on reliability, scalability, automation, observability, and service quality
Strong experience with AWS services, including IAM, VPC, S3, KMS, and CloudWatch.
Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform (or equivalent).
Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery workflows using tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform Cloud/Enterprise, Artifactory, SonarQube, or equivalent.
Familiarity with identity and access management and secrets management patterns, including SSO, SAML, OIDC, privileged access, and tools such as AWS Secrets Manager, CyberArk PAM, or equivalent.
Strong Linux/Unix administration skills and scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python).
Strong knowledge of Git-based workflows, branching strategies,, and pull request-based review.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability practices in cloud environments, including tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Security Hub.
Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills across cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-availability environment with a strong sense of accountability.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and support after-hours production needs.
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
