Full Job Description
NBC4 in Washington, DC is looking for a Platform Manager (Newscast Producer) for its morning newscast, News4 Today. Responsibilities include: • Responsible for the overall editorial content on one or more platforms produced by WRC • Serve as one of the primary Line Producers of assigned daily newscast • Work with Content Producers to select the most compelling and relevant stories • Work with the production team to ensure smooth and seamless productions • Work with Executive Producer and Assignment Editor to ensure the most complete local news coverage • Work with digital team to incorporate social/digital/streaming content into newscast • Produce content that can cross platforms for our digital, streaming and OTT apps, and our sister station, Telemundo 44 • Play an active role in the editorial process • Write, produce, edit video, and gather content for all platforms • Effectively manage a pool of Content Producers, coaching and mentoring as needed • Ensure fairness, accuracy, and balance in reporting, upholding the standards of NBC4 and NBC News This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000 Qualifications • Minimum 3 years of experience producing a daily newscast • Minimum 3 years of experience writing, producing and desktop video editing • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent work experience Eligibility Requirements • Must be willing to work in Washington D.C. • Must be at least 18 years old • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States • Must be available to work overnights, mornings, holidays, and weekends • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. Desired Qualifications • Strong journalistic skills, experience in newsgathering and/or production • Strong writing and video editing skills • Strong leadership skills; ability to step into leadership role when EP is off • Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms, including broadcast, streaming, mobile, and social media • Experience as a producer in a major market for television, web-based news service, or mid-sized market EP • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines • Spanish language skills a plus Additional Information As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
