Description

  • Position: Plastics Engineer (Plastic Injection Molding)
  • Location: Hudson, MA (on-site)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (based on business needs)
  • Compensation: $110K - $130K (Dependent on Experience)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Plastics Engineer to take a lead role in driving process development, technical problem-solving, and new program success within our injection molding operations.

This is a senior, high-impact position where you will own complex projects from concept through production-working directly with customers, tooling partners, and internal teams to deliver optimized, production-ready solutions. Your expertise will directly influence quality, efficiency, and the long-term success of our manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead development and optimization of injection molding processes for complex, tight-tolerance components
  • Own key customer programs-serving as the primary technical point of contact from design through production
  • Evaluate and approve tooling designs, modifications, and performance
  • Partner with tooling vendors and internal teams to ensure molds are production-ready and performing at peak efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and increase overall process capability
  • Utilize SolidWorks and CAD data to support product development, manufacturability, and quoting
  • Troubleshoot processing and tooling challenges with a hands-on, solution-driven approach
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and leadership to ensure seamless execution


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Plastics or related field preferred)
  • Deep expertise in processing, tooling, materials, and mold design
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ERP systems (IQMS preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead projects, solve complex problems, and drive measurable improvements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface directly with customers and vendors
