This role is located within the Plant Engineering - Plant Business Office (PBO) and is responsible for driving strategic planning, capital governance, and execution of plant projects. The position leads cross-functional teams in a matrix environment to deliver efficiency improvements, physical plant changes, and non-product initiatives aligned with plant strategy and KPI targets. The role bridges long-term planning and hands-on execution, ensuring projects are prioritized, approved, and delivered according to scope, cost, timing, and performance objectives.
What you'll doStrategy, Planning & Governance- Own and maintain the Master Plans covering product and non-product needs (manufacturing, facilities, logistics, environment) over a multi-year horizon.
- Translate plant vision into project roadmaps and execution plans aligned with capacity, efficiency, and business targets.
- Act as the voice of the plant in cross-functional and governance forums.
- Own project and plant KPI scorecards, including tracking, reporting, and escalation.
- Benchmark other plants/competitors and analyze complex data sets to develop future strategies
Capital & Project Management- Lead CAPEX governance for non-product and transformation projects, including scope review, prioritization, and alignment with Controlling and Engineering.
- Manage project timelines, risks, dependencies, and change impacts.
- Ensure delivery of approved projects in alignment with scope, cost, timing, and KPI commitments.
- Support gate preparations and launch-related activities as assigned.
- Create dashboards and visualizations for simply communicating project status, gaps and next steps.
Layout, Space & Physical Implementation- Lead plant-wide layout, space, and process flow planning for current and future production.
- Maintain and publish 2D CAD layouts and resolve spatial or infrastructure conflicts.
- Define and track space utilization and flow efficiency metrics.
- Support workstation and base process layout improvements for production teams.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation- Drive efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and industrial engineering principles.
- Contribute to VCMS standardization and improvement of planning and governance tools.
- Lead pre-studies related to insourcing, automation, industrial structure, and smart factory initiatives.
- Coordinate pilot projects and external collaboration as applicable.
What you'll bring- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing, plant engineering, industrial engineering, or project/program management
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects in a matrix organization
- Experience with capital projects, layouts, and process flow optimization
- Problem Solving certification required
- CAPM or PMP preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
