Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing, the Plant Manager is responsible for all production activities associated with manufacturing compounded plastic pellets in the required quantity, quality and within customer specifications in accordance with the Audia Values.

Responsibility for Safety, Health & Environmental
  • Individual is expected to role model the Audia Safety Way and coaching and developing their team to do the same.
  • Individual is expected to perform job duties safely and in compliance with documentation outlined in the Safety, Health & Environmental system as well as local regulations.
  • Individual is expected to actively empower Monthly Safety Meetings by removing barriers that hold the team and facility from higher levels of performance. Audit management systems to ensure they are performing well.

  • Drive a mindset of Customer Reverence and continuous improvement.
  • Individual is expected to perform job duties in compliance with defined management system requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead the site Manufacturing Staff Team. Responsible for Safety and Housekeeping, Co-workers, and Processes Equipment actions to meet customer needs in accordance with the Audia Values.
  • Maintain a positive work environment that encourages employee growth, performance, and development. Ensure that established policies and procedures are followed, as well as site payroll and vacations are managed, working closely with Human Resources
  • Manage and maintain plant performance metrics and the verbal and visual communication of the results to the team.
  • Work cross functionally within the manufacturing network as well as with corporate teams to resolve problems and establish new capacity/capabilities at the facility. Troubleshoot problems and eliminate bottlenecks in production.
  • Visit customers when necessary, to resolve any complaints or problems and strengthen relationships.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to develop annual plant capital budget plans.
  • Determine requirements for projects and major purchases for the plant and evaluate suppliers' proposals to determine the best option for the facility. Buy all new and used production machines and equipment and maintain a thorough knowledge of all extrusion processes and equipment.
  • Report process or equipment problems to the V.P. of Manufacturing.
  • Manage the site operating budget. Review all Purchase Orders and bills for the facility.
  • Evaluate daily production rates and machine downtime, monitoring and investigating any production problems. Drive improvement plans.
  • Act as a back-up and fill in for the Production Manager and/or the Production Foreman when necessary.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required; Preferred - Technical college degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Minimum of 10 years of production manufacturing operations experience and 5 years leading operations teams; Preferred - 15- 20 years in Compounding/Plastics Processing with at least 5 years of plant manager experience.
  • Demonstrated ability driving continuous improvement in an operations environment; Preferred - Lean/Six Sigma quality leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and drive decision making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to support a 24/7 operation.
