The Plant Manager is a full-time position responsible for plant oversite, ensuring buildings are manufactured and delivered according to safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions - Oversees plant operations, setting the weekly plant schedule, providing direction to departmental supervisors, and ensuring that operating procedures support the delivery of a quality product on-time and on-budget.
- Establishes and maintains correct and adequate inventory levels for the facility, interacting with corporate purchasers regarding anticipated needs.
- Maintains adequate headcount to meet production needs, performing interviews, and overseeing the assessment, selection, and development of talent.
- Directs cross-functional collaboration and communication to provide a positive construction experience for employees and customers.
- Serves as a safety advocate for Morton Buildings, Inc., exhibiting a constant awareness of safety requirements, addressing safety incidents within the plant, and promoting safe operations within the production area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 5 years supervisory and/or management experience
- Purchasing and inventory management experience, preferred
- Proven process improvement efforts and results achieved
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross functional groups
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow
- Dedicated to creating a workplace environment that is safe, organized, productive and enjoyable
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EEOC and DOT regulations
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills
