Full Job Description
To ensure the health and welfare of employees within the facility, comply with the code of conduct, meet and/or exceed contractual customer quality and delivery expectations, and create an environment that drives continuous improvement and employee engagement.

The Plant Manager oversees all daily operations of plant production. Keeps production at maximum capacity while working within financial controls.

The Plant Manager ensures all required quality and regulatory standards are met. Develop processes for maximum safety, quality, productivity, and stewardship.
Additionally, the Plant Manager provides oversight to several plant level functions such as accounting, maintenance, distribution, and administration. The Plant Manager develops plant strategy and specific objectives for the functions. Develops budgets and policies/procedures to support functional infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Effectively communicate with all internal customers, plant management and team members; maintain positive employee relations; listen to issues and concerns and display leadership in driving accountability and responsiveness.
  • Maintain open, honest relationships with fellow team members; treat all team members with dignity and respect.
  • Actively create/sustain a strong talent management process and committee for all people. Create a dynamic learning culture in which people grow within and beyond the facility
  • Think strategically and systematically; work towards long-term success, as well as facilities' short-term success
  • Problem solve and make decisions by applying analytical and creative thinking skills, as well as strong business and sense of urgency
  • Complete face-to-face reviews and individual development plans with staff-level employees annually
  • Ensure that meetings are transparent, candid, constructive, and overall up-lifting. Connects what the people are doing to success and their customer's success
  • Actively support and participate in the application of organizational principles, tools, and processes (i.e., layered process audits) creating an environment in which the plant principles and tools thrive.
  • Review income statement daily. Adjust staffing, approve salaried overtime, and discretionary spending plans as required to flex with volume.
  • Monthly review and sign off on forecasts including income statement, and balance sheet.
  • Lead budgeting/AOP process at plant level
  • Lead plant-level review of operating metrics once a month.
  • Review and sign off on capital and startup costs in quotes.
  • Review weekly trend before submitting to finance.
  • Support Quality Management Team to ensure compliance to client quality systems.
  • Ensure key quality metrics are reviewed daily covering customer quality performance, manufacturing process driven scrap, and significant impacts to FTT performance as per guidance in Operating System standards.
  • Support Operations Team in ensuring completion per assigned plant schedule.
  • Ensure monthly management reviews, including quality metrics, customer scorecard performance, cost of poor quality, and review of product launch/safe launch activity.
  • Support and ensure cooperation between departments in addressing issues.
  • Drive production to ensure delivery of customer requirements is met. Communicate any issues and action to resolve.
  • Review capacity at least quarterly; constraints in capacity should be escalated.
  • Review and approve any premium freight.
  • Review inventory performance on a weekly basis.


WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Business-Related Field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressively more responsible supervisory / managerial and leadership experience in high volume manufacturing operation (Automotive experience required).
  • Strong communication skills, performance, and proficiency management, staffing management, time management, coordination, training, financial planning, efficient in standards development, sound in decision making and strategic management.
  • Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping, etc.
