Plant Manager Role Summary

Manages the operations and related activities (Warehouse, Production) of a 200k sq' facility with approximately 100 employees to produce products meeting customer demand, quality standards, and on time in the most safe, efficient and effective way(s) possible using sales and delivery information; production schedules; changeovers; preventive maintenance; raw materials and production supplies; enforcing quality standards; maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP); and managing staff.

Primary Functions/Responsibilities
  • Conduct, behavior and actions in accordance with Oxco core values of Caring, Creativity, Determination, Dependability and Teamwork
  • Conduct, behavior and actions in accordance with Oxco's Valued Colleague Pledge
  • Act as a champion for change within the department and across Oxco utilizing Continuous Improvement Manufacturing principles. Drive Continuous Improvement in all aspects of manufacturing operations with a heavy emphasis on employee involvement.
  • Ensure direct reports are properly utilizing Oxco's systems, technology, and policies and procedures. Provide training and/or performance feedback to ensure these obligations are met.
  • Exhibit leadership level decision-making, cross-functional teamwork, problem solving, and policy development. Adhere to Oxco mission, values, standards, policies and procedures. Proactively ensure personal awareness of policies before acting.
  • Develop direct reports and department members and hold team members accountable to Oxco standards. Provide meaningful interaction, coaching, and feedback to team members on a routine basis and during the one-on-one feedback cycle.
  • Initiate corrective action and recommend employment actions, in conjunction with the Vice President of Manufacturing and HR when situations warrant.
  • Establish expectations and provide coaching and guidance to production engineering responsible for improving equipment, reducing cycle times and standard cost
  • Responsible and authorized to implement programs to ensure compliance above and beyond OSHA requirements for workplace health and safety.

  • Optimize Value Stream
    • Develop strong relationship with Sales & Supply Chain to optimize entire value stream
    • Support Continuous Improvement activities to improve machine efficiency
    • Optimize material handling / warehouse for improved efficiency and space utilization.
  • Quality Management
    • Responsible for continuous improvement to maintain ISO certification
    • Develop Housekeeping goals and measurement

    • Support and assist with Plant Maintenance and Product Development
    • Issues Reporting: informing other interrelated departments regarding issues in operations that will impact customers or other functions within Oxco
    • Raise any issues or concerns that arise during day-to-day work to the Vice President of Manufacturing
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:
  • College degree (4 year) in business or textiles or equivalent experience

Experience:
  • 5 years• experience managing a large, complex manufacturing department or plant

Skills:
  • Computer - proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Mathematical reasoning - perform mathematical and measurement conversions
  • High attention to detail • accuracy in entering data and in communicating information with others; ability to see errors and identify inconsistencies
