Title: Plant Manager
Location: Gemini Plastics, Inc / 4385 Garfield Street, Ubly, Michigan
Status: Full Time / Salary - Exempt (45-50 hours/week; additional hours as needed)
This role is for a manufacturing leader who can set direction, build strong teams, remove roadblocks, and deliver results across a complex extrusion operation. You'll own plant performance, financial results, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement efforts while partnering with operations across Michigan, Texas, and Mexico. Success in this position requires a strong background in plastics manufacturing, a data-driven approach to problem solving, and the ability to coach leaders at every level of the organization.

Scope:- Direct all plant operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Lead and develop department managers while building accountability across the organization.
- Oversee plant financial performance, budgeting, cost control, and profitability initiatives.
- Coordinate operational alignment with extrusion facilities in Texas and Mexico.
- Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
- Serve as the primary plant leader for strategic initiatives, policy implementation, and issue resolution.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in a business or industrial-related field, or equivalent automotive industry experience.
- 10+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing or a related automotive manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- Advanced problem-solving experience using DOE, Root Cause Analysis, Regression Analysis, 8D, and 5 Why methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience managing plant performance, operations, and manufacturing resources.
Preferences:- Six Sigma Green Belt or Shainin Red X certification.
- LEAN Manufacturing certification.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Formal business education or advanced business training.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all phases of manufacturing while ensuring high-quality production and achievement of operational goals.
- Monitor key performance metrics, analyze operational data, and implement improvements that enhance profitability.
- Maintain compliance with quality, environmental, and training requirements while supporting a safe workplace.
- Coach cross-functional teams through product and process challenges using structured problem-solving methods.
- Lead communication efforts across the plant and foster a results-oriented culture focused on quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Support new product launches, process improvements, and travel as needed to customer and manufacturing locations.
