Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

Lead and manage the entire production operation within the customer centric unit including materials management, assembly, shipping, quality control, maintenance, and manufacturing engineering. Develop and administer policies and guidelines applicable to manufacturing operations. Ensure operations meet established objectives including but not limited to safety, quality, delivery, and cost; and develop and promote human resource bench strength throughout all levels of the entire production operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Production Manufacturing operations, Continuous Improvement, and Safety and Environmental areas of the plant, which includes the guidance and direction of manufacturing and selected support groups
  • Coordinates the plant operational activities to ensure the safety of associates, high product quality standards and production schedules are met so that the P&L is positively managed at or below budgeted cost to established specifications
  • Able to manage key KPI metrics and characteristics to identified operational targets
  • Influence positive change and continuous improvements using Lean, TPS, and trained problem solving methodologies (i.e. Six Sigma, etc.) through meaningful effective communication with all plant and corporate associates
  • Leads in the professional development of operational leaders
  • Develops and executes manufacturing strategy delivering on committed financial performance and customer service
  • Owns Plant Management and Production per TS/IATF-16949 standard


Qualifications
  • A minimum of bachelor's degree in Management, Business or Engineering
  • 15 years post degree experience in the business world
  • 10 years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing
  • Creative, self-motivated, and works well in a cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and well organized
  • Committed to achieving world-class performance standards
  • Experience in leading and managing a fast paced, short window automotive assembly and sequencing plant.
  • The interpersonal skills, personal comfort and respect for other people that are necessary to effectively communicate and actively interface with a production workforce on a daily basis.

TRAVEL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Occasional travel may be necessary to support business and customer needs
  • Regular presence on the production floor required to support operations, including extended periods of standing and walking
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and comply with all PPE requirements
  • Ability to support operations during off-shift hours or extended production schedules as needed
