  • Evaluate needs for equipment and material purchases with the Plant Manager.
  • Oversee facility housekeeping and safety awareness initiatives.
  • Enhance profitability while adhering to legal and company policy guidelines.
  • Optimize scrap reduction strategies and techniques.
  • Coordinate startup/shutdown processes for technical teams in a supportive role.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to meet safety and quality targets.

Full Job Description
Job Summary:

Ensures safety, delivery, quality requirements, customer satisfaction and plant profitability targets are realized. Utilizes leadership skills to communicate vision and direction from management team to plant staff. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directs and manages the day-to-day floor level manufacturing activities utilizing multiple shift teams.


Duties/Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works closely with production scheduling to optimize customer satisfaction and plant efficiency.
  • Supports and initiates projects for continued quality, safety and cost improvements.
  • Assists Plant Manager with ensuring that the facility is properly staffed and trained.
  • Helps ensure that all training, disciplinary actions, and employee advancements are properly administered and maintained.
  • Assists Plant Manager with evaluations of needs for: equipment - tools/ auxiliary items - material purchases.
  • Bears overall responsibility for housekeeping of facility and safety awareness.
  • Helps ensure that the operation's processes and costs enhance profitability while staying within legal guidelines and company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates and optimizes scrap reduction techniques and strategies.
  • Provides shift startup/shutdown/changeover prioritization to process techs and mold setters in a dotted line relationship with direct line supervision.
  • Works closely with Quality Manager: responsible for ensuring safety, quality rejections/ppm's, delivery, scrap and productivity meet plant objectives and targets.
  • Responsible for maximizing the regrind usage within the Customer Specification requirements.

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience.
  • 10-years' experience in a manufacturing environment, minimum 5-year in a leadership role.
  • Experience in plastics and injection molding preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of P&L/Income Statement
  • In-depth knowledge of Plant Quality Systems.
  • Completion of "Fundamentals of Injection Molding" Paulson Training.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance, 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, TS/ ISO guidelines or requirements, process improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work efficiently with coworkers and create a well-functioning team environment.
  • English language proficiency to include verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.).
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Requires manual dexterity.
  • Moderate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at various heights
