Plant Manager PURPOSE OF POSITION:This position is responsible for daily operations and management of our processing facilities and warehouses.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Plant Operations- Drive operational excellence at the facility.
- Oversee plant activities to ensure the Company is meeting required processing commitments.
- Review production schedules with facility superintendents and plant coordinator.
- Maintain and manage offsite grain storage locations and inventory.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with production standards.
- Implement systems to control operating expenses across all facility operations.
- Implement best practices regarding process flow, food safety, quality, safety and overall efficiency.
- Ensure plant processes result in accurate real-time inventory.
- Manage staff, determine requirements, efficiencies and provide a recruiting forecast.
- Own retention planning and performance management of facility's team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Plant & Equipment - Assess, recommend to management, and manage capital expenditures which improve plant productivity.
- Maintain plant facilities working with Maintenance Superintendent and Safety Coordinator.
- Make recommendation of technology/automation at the facility to increase efficiencies, reduce labor costs and increase plant uptime.
- Act as primary point person for third-party vendors and contractors.
Safety & Quality- Cultivate a culture of safety.
- Ensure product quality is within specification.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with overall quality standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Oversee and hold teams accountable for successful implementation and adherence of food safety programs and processes within the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations or related field or seven+ years of related plant or grain operations experience
- Three+ years of management experience
- General knowledge of food quality standards and overall safety procedures
- Proven ability to lead through change
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
- Ability to react quickly and accommodate change

While performing the duties of this job inside the office, the employee is frequently exposed to normal working conditions for an office environment with a noise level that is usually quiet to moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. On occasion, employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
