ABOUT THE ROLE

The Plant Manager is an essential leader within the manufacturing team, responsible for directing daily operations, developing and executing manufacturing policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering transparent corporate communication. While primarily managing the designated facility, this role may involve the oversight of remote plant managers at other locations. The successful candidate will drive Continuous Improvement initiatives, guarantee end-to-end product quality, and possess a proven track record of managing small-to-medium manufacturing operations as the senior on-site executive.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Safety & Quality Assurance
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain safe operations that comply with all legal requirements and Corporate Safety Department guidelines.
  • Safety Committee Leadership: Oversee a structured Safety Committee, ensuring regular meetings are held and corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Standardization & Quality Culture: Implement standard work protocols to optimize associate performance and embed strict quality standards into all products, documentation, and customer interactions.
  • Scrap Performance: Track and report production scrap in alignment with Total Cost of Quality KPI goals.

Operations & Logistics
  • Customer Satisfaction: Guarantee on-time product shipments delivered in proper containment and professional order.
  • Inventory Integrity: Maintain precise plant-level inventory accuracy by executing scheduled transactions per corporate policy and promptly escalating issues to Corporate personnel.
  • Lean Methodologies: Generate and update Value Stream Maps at least twice annually, implement kanbans in coordination with the Corporate Materials Group, and sustain 5S systems across all operations.

Performance & Associate Management
  • Metric Management: Utilize an SQDP Board system for daily performance reviews, tracking cross-functional objectives across HR, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify operational shortfalls, execute targeted countermeasures, and collaborate with Corporate for support when necessary.
  • Talent Development: Conduct timely employee reviews, maintain necessary certifications, track attendance and turnover, and establish robust succession plans.
  • High-Potential Advancement: Partner with Corporate HR to identify high-potential associates and design professional growth plans.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a manufacturing environment, including 5 years in a supervisory role and 5 years as a Plant Manager or senior on-site executive.
  • Financial Accountability: Demonstrated prior Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Engineering or Business); an MBA or relevant Master's level degree is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proven application of continuous improvement and lean methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Proficiency in MS Office or Google Suite is required, and experience with ERP software (such as Mapics) is preferred.
  • Leadership Traits: Strong leadership capabilities, communication skills, organizational talent, and a hands-on approach. Must demonstrate a history of successful employee development and retention alongside excellent professional judgment and ethics.
