Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Flint Stamping on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Stamping Launch Manager leads cross-functional activities required to launch new stamping dies and
processes safely, on schedule, within budget, and at the required quality and throughput levels. This role
coordinates plant, manufacturing engineering, tooling, quality, material, maintenance, and supplier teams to
ensure production readiness and successful vehicle-program launch.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
• Lead the plant stamping launch team and establish clear roles, responsibilities, timing, and escalation
processes.
• Develop and maintain the stamping launch plan, Launch Wall, open-issues list, action plans, and performance
reports.
• Coordinate die delivery, installation, commissioning, tryouts, buyoffs, and handoff to production.
• Track die-set readiness, manufacturability, quality, throughput, and production-readiness risks through SORP.
• Lead regular launch meetings with Stamping Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Die Leads, Plant
Launch Operations, Quality, Material, Maintenance, Body Shop, and suppliers.
• Drive timely resolution of launch issues using structured root-cause and problem-solving methods.
• Coordinate T-events, production trial runs, batch-and-hold activities, temporary deviations, and escalation
actions.
• Ensure container strategy, material flow, warehouse layout, and space requirements support the launch
schedule.
• Support part-quality reviews, dimensional performance, formability, surface quality, and throughput validation.
• Monitor launch expenditures, funded hours, purchase requests, contractor activity, and budget performance.
• Coordinate plant resources, including skilled trades, production operators, checkers, engineers, and launch
support personnel.
• Develop and execute launch-related training for production, maintenance, and technical teams.
• Capture and communicate lessons learned through post-launch reviews and issue-tracking systems.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
• 5 yrs + experience in automotive stamping, press operations, tooling, die manufacturing, or manufacturing
engineering.
• Strong understanding of stamping processes, transfer or tandem presses, dies, material flow, and production
launch activities.
• Demonstrated project-management, scheduling, risk-management, and issue-resolution skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and make timely decisions in a high-pressure launch environment.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Working knowledge of safety requirements, quality systems, GMS, PFMEA, process controls, and change
management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and launch/project-tracking systems.
Stamping Launch Manager Job Description
• Ability to travel to supplier facilities, die shops, buyoffs, and launch events as required.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• Experience with stamping die design, die tryout, formability analysis, GD&T, dimensional inspection, or part-
quality improvement.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, process validation, and production trial runs.
• Experience working with automotive OEMs, die suppliers, and plant launch organizations.
• Familiarity with QAB, Maximo, TMaCS, or comparable issue and asset-management systems.
• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Red X, or structured problem-solving certification.

• Safe execution of all launch activities.
• Dies and processes delivered to plan.
• Parts meeting quality and dimensional requirements.
• Throughput and takt-time targets achieved.
• Issues contained and permanently resolved.
• Production team trained and ready.
