Full Job Description
$117,800.00-$162,000.00 Annual This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.  The Plant Engineeris responsible foroverseeing, managing, and maintainingall maintenance and engineering functions for the Spartanburg Plant. This role leadsall aspects of the facility’s capital and maintenance budgets, including CapExprojects, budgeting and long‑term planning, monthly reporting, equipment reliability, productivity improvements, and staffing and development of the Maintenance department. Your Day-to-Day: • Partner with Plant Leadershipto achieve business goals. • Provide direction for allplant‑controlledprojects, including capital expenditure initiatives. • Oversee Plant Maintenance and Fire Protection Programs. • Provide 24/7 leadership to maintenance teams to meet safety, environmental, quality, and production goals (overseeing 23 employees). • Set direction,allocateresources, and manage scheduling. • Manage PM and work order systems to drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement through proactive maintenance. • Plan and manage shutdowns and turnaround activities. • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors toprocureservices and parts. • Develop, track, and communicate key maintenance metrics to drive plant performance. • Support safety training and programs for maintenance employees. • Determineroot cause and drive corrective actions for mechanical and electrical issues. • Develop, implement, andmanage maintenancestoreroom inventories. • Assess workforce technical skills and develop targeted training programs. • Maintain purchasing, accounts payable, and commitment record systems; control all spending within Plant Engineering and the Maintenance Shop. • Oversee storeroom organization, controlled entry, and computerized inventory systems. • Develop and manage capital and expense project spending plans aligned with business strategies. • Formulate and control maintenance budgets and staffing plans. • Promote a safe, engaged, andhigh‑performanceenvironment aligned with JM values. • Represent Johns Manville when interacting with service and utility providers. • Establish programs to ensure Engineering and Maintenance personnelremaintrained on current technologies. • Oversee housekeeping plans and procedures.​ What You Bring to the Team: • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical preferred). • 6+ years of experience in Project/Plant Engineering with responsibilities inProject Management, Maintenance, Contractor Performance, and Environmental Compliance. • Experience in polymer science or textile finishing operations is a plus. • Strong knowledge of: Electrical, Mechanical, Utility, and HVAC systems Budgeting, scheduling, planning, cost control, and organizational skills Project handling procedures, criticalpath, scheduling, andestimating. ISO 9000 certification requirements Air, water, and fugitive emissions regulations and technology Hazardous material requirements • Proficientin computer applications and data analysis. • CAD experience with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • 3+ years of experience working with contractors, service firms, and vendors. • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and training skills. • Solid analytical androot‑causeanalysis capabilities. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. • Ability to supervise or lead individuals or project teams, set priorities, and provide performance feedback. • Minimal travelrequired(0–10 daysper year). • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. • Work environment typical of a manufacturing facility, with potential exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving equipment, heights, dust, fumes, and extensive walking or climbing.
