Summary
PaperWorks is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to join our Louisville, KY folding carton facility. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of cost accounting and financial reporting, while providing financial insights to support key business decisions.
Responsibilities include month-end close, cost accounting, financial reporting, variance and cost analysis, internal controls, balance sheet management (including fixed assets), budgeting, capital expenditures, and forecasting. This role partners closely with plant leadership to drive performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support operational and pricing decisions.

How you will impact PaperWorks:
- Lead month-end close activities and analyze results against budget and forecast.
- Manage plant forecasting processes (weekly, monthly, annual) based on key operational drivers and cost trends.
- Partner with management to address performance gaps and improve results.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Develop the annual operating budget, including P&L and working capital.
- Oversee inventory accounting, including physical counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances.
- Ensure compliance with cost accounting procedures, US GAAP, and internal reporting requirements.
- Analyze daily cost data to identify issues and explain variances to management.
- Maintain and improve product costing systems and processes.
- Support audit, tax, and internal reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial and operational reports, analysis, and presentations; support ad hoc projects.
- Foster collaboration, lead change, and model integrity.
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong ERP experience, Epicor-AVP is a plus.
- Experience with general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and ability to support audits.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to develop reports, business correspondence, and procedure documentation.
- Results-oriented mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach.
