Full Job Description

Plant Controller is responsible for supporting the forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic partnerships within the Loveland manufacturing facility. The position is further responsible for supporting local financial leadership, guidance, and assistance to various plant leaders in alignment with the Global Operations Finance Director and Controller, North America. This includes conducting financial and business analysis to identify potential problems and recommend solutions, preparing/supporting the development of annual financial budgets for operations, as well as supporting local supply chain and procurement teams with analytics.

This is a new role, so if you are excited by the challenge of creating something new, this could be for you! This role is an individual contributor role at this time and will roll-up sleeves and dive in to data. There is support from a matrixed team for transactional items, so this role can focus on the priorities of discovery, collection and analysis of data as well as building important relationships and partnerships.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Collaborate with Global Operations Finance Director and Controller, North America, as well as Plant leadership to establish standard reporting and KPIs, such as plant reporting packages, productivity, inventory & E&O reporting
  • Participate in development of standard process documentation/policies for costing items: standard cost methodology, Overhead Absorption, Variance reporting, etc.
  • Support Controller, North America and the North America accounting team where appropriate to support submission of accurate financial statements that are compliant with US GAAP and company accounting practices
  • Support Plant Directors with budgeting, forecasting, headcount reporting, and monthly and quarterly variance analyses
  • Ownership of Loveland capital reporting process, both forecasting and review of project proposals related to Ops
  • Participates in and helps drive the use of Lean Management Tools and continuous improvement within the Finance organization and the business
  • Challenges existing processes, systems, reports, data analysis and outputs and with the support of Global Ops Finance Director and Controller, North America, implements necessary changes to create a best-in-class control environment
  • Develop, coach, manage rewards, set objectives, prepare, and give performance reviews for the local finance team.
  • Reports to the Global Finance Director, Operations, with dotted line to the Controller, North America


The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
  • 10+ years’ experience of increasing responsibility in various accounting and finance roles, with specific experience in operations/manufacturing
  • Must have experience in multi-site, large (over $250M) organization. Experience in global, matrix organization is important.
  • Experience in implementation of financial accounting systems a plus
  • Experience with Oracle, Oracle Fusion, Onestream or similar software a plus
  • Accepts and embraces a stretch culture environment with a positive can-do attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to serve as a business partner.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis; able to identify variations and trends that indicate possible exposures and the need for countermeasures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
