Plant Accountant
Location: Downtown Houston
Pay Rate: $50.00 - $55.00/hour
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Perform full-cycle gas pipeline and plant accounting for assigned assets
• Execute monthly close including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Analyze and process plant statements (POP, Keep-Whole, Fee-Based)
• Reconcile inlet vs. outlet volumes including residue gas, NGLs, fuel, and shrink
• Calculate and validate MMBtu and NGL volumes for revenue recognition
• Track and account for fuel usage, compression fuel, and L&U volumes
• Support revenue recognition for gas, NGLs, and processing fees per contract terms
• Perform imbalance accounting and track over/under-deliveries
• Review and validate component settlements (ethane, propane, butane, etc.)
• Partner with Commercial and Operations to interpret contracts and resolve discrepancies
• Investigate and explain volume and revenue variances month-over-month
• Maintain system data in Quorum, TIPS, or similar systems, including pricing updates
• Review cash application and process prior period adjustments
• Prepare monthly variance/flux analysis and support period close activities
• Participate in audits and cross-functional inquiries
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff on complex processes
• Lead special projects requiring advanced midstream revenue accounting knowledge

Qualifications:
• 8+ years of midstream revenue accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of gas measurement (MCF, MMBtu, gallons)
• Expertise in POP, Keep-Whole, and Fee-Based contracts
• Deep understanding of shrink, fuel, plant recoveries, and volume reconciliation
• Experience with plant statements and settlement processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets)
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP PRA) and midstream systems (Quorum TIPS)
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex data clearly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional relationships
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
