Position Overview

The Planner/Scheduler III opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in the planning, development, and maintenance of project schedules across complex construction activities. This position sits within a project controls environment and supports the successful delivery of planning, procurement, development, construction, and maintenance work. The Planner/Scheduler III role is suited to a technical professional who can work independently, provide schedule insight to project teams, and contribute to effective project execution. This Planner/Scheduler III position also offers the opportunity to guide junior and intermediate planners and schedulers while supporting schedule performance across the project lifecycle.

Role Context

This role is within the oil and gas construction sector and supports projects moving through development and execution stages. The position works within a project management and project controls setting, reporting directly to the Supervisor of Project Controls. The working environment is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to field worksite locations and potential overnight business or construction field trips.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, detail, update, and maintain project schedules for one or more projects in line with established scheduling standards and work breakdown structures.
  • Support schedule planning across procurement, development, construction, and maintenance activities in collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Analyse schedule performance, identify impacts to baseline plans, and communicate schedule issues clearly to the Project Manager and wider team.
  • Develop and manage schedule performance indicators and provide reporting, updates, and planning input required for project delivery.
  • Produce what-if schedule scenarios, identify critical path activities, and communicate logic-driven options to support project decision-making.
  • Interface with project team members and key stakeholders to obtain the information required for accurate and timely critical-path schedule management.
  • Provide technical scheduling and planning advice and offer guidance to junior and intermediate planners and schedulers.
