POSITION SUMMARYThe Pilot is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of Horizon Bank's corporate aircraft. Serving as one of two pilots on the Bank's flight team, this position supports executive leadership and business operations by ensuring all flights are conducted in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
WHAT WILL I DO?Key responsibilities include:
- Safely operate the Bank's corporate aircraft in compliance with all FAA regulations, aircraft operating limitations, and company policies.
- Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC) as assigned.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures to ensure aircraft safety and operational readiness.
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of flight operations, including weather analysis, flight planning, fuel requirements, airport logistics, and aircraft performance.
- Maintain all required FAA licenses, medical certifications, type ratings, and training necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Participate in required recurrent training and proficiency evaluations to ensure continued operational excellence.
- Coordinate with maintenance providers to ensure the aircraft remains airworthy and complies with all scheduled inspections and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate flight logs, aircraft records, and other required documentation.
- Provide a high level of professionalism, discretion, and customer service while transporting executives, employees, and authorized passengers.
- Support the overall operation of the corporate flight team and perform other duties as assigned.

- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate required.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Multi-engine land rating with jet aircraft experience.
- Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations and demonstrated commitment to aviation safety.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and customer service while supporting executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous corporate or business aviation experience.
- Learjet 75 type rating or experience operating comparable business jet aircraft.
- Pilot in Command (PIC) experience.
