Full Job Description
Reporting to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Specialized Care Program Clinical Service Manager and working in collaboration with the program clinic lead, multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will support the development, growth and day to day operations of the WSIB Specialized Care Program (i.e. musculoskeletal (MSK), neurological) - an outpatient assessment and treatment program for injured workers who have sustained work related injuries and require interdisciplinary assessment, diagnostic and rehabilitation services to assist them in their return to work and function.
The role requires a mixture of hands-on clinical work and administrative responsibilities including operational and staff oversight and liaison with key stakeholders. You will work primarily out of the MSK clinics and outpatient rehab areas as part of the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence based, outcome oriented care and recommendations. Please note you may also be required to support our regular patient care stream through the outpatient rehab department based on operational needs (i.e. Post-surgical - acute, sub-acute orthopedic/surgical patients, fracture clinic, bundle care, such as knees, hips, shoulders, etc).
Accountabilities:
- Provide assessment and therapy services in keeping within the college guidelines and standards of practice for specialty clinic workers for issues that have been referred by WSIB through the Trillium Health Partners/Osler partnership
- Participate in the return to work planning with the interdisciplinary team and multiple stakeholders will be required
- Work within our WSIB Trillium Health Partners/Osler partnership in the coordination of WSIB services with the appropriate health care and administrative professionals including the review and interpretation of reports, facilitating conferences as needed, participation in data collection and analysis of business benchmarks and clinical outcome measures
- Participate in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation are part of this role
- Supervision of physiotherapist assistants when delivering treatment will be required, student supervision as required is also part of this role
- Practice in accordance with the physiotherapy standards of practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
Qualifications
- MSc or BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Membership with the Ontario Physiotherapy Association/Canadian Physiotherapy Association is preferred
- Relevant experience in treating a variety of MSK/neurological conditions in an ambulatory care setting, return to work planning, functional evaluation, work conditioning and return to work strategies an asset
- Experience providing services with a strong quality improvement focus to third party payers including WSIB
- Excellent written communication skills required for the preparation of comprehensive reports
- Demonstrated leadership ability within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an inter-professional patient care team
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills required

Additional Information
Hours: Currently Days/Evenings, Monday to Friday (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Salary:
Minimum: $43.74 per hour
Maximum: $57.43 per hour
