Full Job Description
The Physician Liaison is responsible for building physician (OBGYN) referral relationships in the surrounding areas of the designated practices; collaborating and implementing operations initiatives designed to enhance profile and reputation of the practice in the community. The Physician Liaison actively supports and promotes Prelude's commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive, state-of-the-art fertility care to all patients.

Role expectations:

  • Identify referral sources and maintain and grow physician referrals through on-site visits to (OB/GYN) referring office, networking events, trade shows, community functions and patient education/outreach events that align with current strategies of the practice
  • Continually share feedback from the market to initiate, in conjunction with the appropriate managers, operations-based changes in our services to better serve our referring offices
  • Build strong partnerships with referring and non-referring offices
  • Point of contact for ordering of marketing materials for the clinics and the field

  • Identify and monitor competitor activities and efforts within the area
  • Support established metrics and measures of success for all local referral efforts

  • Develop and implement regular strategic plans to increase referrals
  • Keep a pulse on the clinics new consults scheduled every week, no show rate and trends
  • Identify referral patterns and create strategic plans to respond to trends
  • Daily document visits in the CRM
  • Have a solid understanding of the infertility journey demonstrating expertise
  • Can articulate the many points of difference we have as it relates to the patient experience
  • Contribute to team effort by maintaining an excellent rapport and working relationship between patient services, other departments within practice and the Prelude Network
  • Special projects
    • Assist with execution of special events e.g. Annual Fertility Symposium (virtual or hybrid event) or appearances at conferences and other sales/marketing opportunities
    • Assist marketing department with support at DTC events, social media content, etc. as requested

  • Point of contact in relationships with outside marketing agencies and/or vendors
  • Point of contact in relationships with local community groups (eg. GOGS, Men Having Babies, various women's societies, etc.)
  • Leads all aspects of patient-focused community events
  • Other duties as assigned, and in keeping with Prelude's policies, procedures, compliance, standards of patient care and/or initiatives toward continuous improvement at the individual and organizational level


Skills and experience required to thrive in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in marketing or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with physicians/providers, medical practice office staff, or other medical specialties
  • Previous experience in the fertility industry and/or interfacing with OB/GYNs preferred
  • Outgoing personality with superior oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter who works independently and as a member of a team, taking initiative and meeting objectives
