Full Job Description
Under the supervision and collaboration with the Chair, Department of Surgery, the Physician - General Surgery is responsible for clinical and administrative responsibilities as full time Physician - General Surgeon. Meet with patients and provide them with the best surgical options outlining all the risks and benefits associated with the surgical procedure prior to the procedure. The Surgeon will review with the patient the method of surgery that should be most successful in achieving the desired outcome.

  • Graduation from a school of medicine with a Degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Completion of an ACGME approved General Surgery Residency Program and Plastic Surgery Fellowship.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in performing general surgical procedures.
  • New York State Licensed Physician
  • Certification from the American Board of Surgery
  • Completion of a fellowship in a surgical specialty
  • DEA Certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
