SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled physician to join our healthcare team, delivering high-quality medical care in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF). In this role, you will provide direct patient care through daily rounding, focusing on managing medical comorbidities, supporting functional recovery, and coordinating care with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Patient Care and Assessment: Perform comprehensive medical assessments, develop and manage treatment plans, and provide ongoing medical oversight for IRF patients throughout their rehabilitation stay, with a focus on managing comorbidities and supporting recovery.
- Daily Rounding: Conduct structured daily rounds to assess patients' medical status, adjust treatment plans, manage medications and orders, and address any emergent health concerns that arise during the rehabilitation course.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team - including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and nursing staff - to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care tailored to each patient's rehabilitation goals.
- Discharge Planning Support: Partner with case management and the rehabilitation team to assess patients' medical readiness for discharge and support appropriate transitions to home, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing, or other levels of care.
- Patient and Family Education: Educate patients, families, and facility staff on medical conditions, medications, and care management strategies that support recovery and reduce the risk of complications or readmission.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR), ensuring compliance with IRF regulatory standards, CMS requirements, and organizational protocols.
- Urgent and Emergent Response: Evaluate and manage acute changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and determine when specialist consultation or transfer to a higher level of care is warranted.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery, reduce preventable hospital transfers, and optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction within the facility.

Qualifications- MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or Hospital Medicine
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of employment
- Active DEA License
- Proficiency with EMR
- Compassionate, intelligent, motivated, and a team player
This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities. Depending on the amount of travel required, Curana may in future determine that a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required. If so, you will be provided with thirty (30) days notice of this requirement. From that time forward, please be advised that Periodic motor vehicle (MVR) checks may be conducted as a condition of, and/or for, continued employment.
Pay RangeUSD $200,000.00/Yr. - USD $250,000.00/Yr. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Curana Health offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, 401K, PTO, paid holidays (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
