Physician Assistant - Spine and Orthopedic Full Time DaysWork location: Texas Health Rockwall - 3150 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032
Work hours: Full Time, 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Training: Must be able to attend orientation and training at the corporate office in Arlington 8am-5pm during the first 1-5 days of hire
Here's What You Need- Graduate of an AMA accredited physician assistant program required
- 3 years of Physician Assistant experience preferred and
- 1 year of experience in Spine and Orthopedic services strongly preferred
- PA - Physician Assistant current State of Texas PA license required upon hire and
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire and
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care required and maintained quarterly and
- Must be credentialed by Medical Staff Services required upon hire and
- NCCPA preferred
- Knowledge of computer documentation; good keyboard skills; working knowledge of the care and management of the patient in the setting
What You Will Do- Performs H&Ps and writes delegated physician orders including medications, addresses elements of core measures, plans for procedures and discharge.
- Actively participates with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate communication and planning; rounds on patients; communicates effectively with delegating physicians, physician consultants and other members of the care team.
- Documents actions, assessments, progress notes and plans in the EHR utilizing approved protocols, order sets and navigators as appropriate; addresses medication reconciliation.
- Contributes to positive patient experience through effective patient communication and focus on coordination and communication with the multidisciplinary care team; works with varied Patient Experience Teams providing feedback and ideas.
- Meets/performs regulatory requirements, NPSGs, clinical and other KPls, safety standards; analyzes performance; demonstrates fiscally sound decisions.
- Performs clinical procedures authorized by the physician within scope of training and medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations.
