Physician Assistant - Radiation Oncology

Valhalla, NY

Summary:

The Department of Radiation Oncology, in collaboration with WMCHealth's Center for Advanced Practice, is seeking an experienced, motivated and highly collaborative Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Radiation Oncology team in a dynamic new role that combines inpatient care and ambulatory support. This is an excellent opportunity for a PA who thrives in a detailed and precise environment, values teamwork in an academic setting, and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care across the continuum.

In this role, the PA will work closely with Radiation Oncologists and hospital-based teams to provide high-level patient care to those suffering with Central Nervous System (CNS) and Head and Neck pathology. This position is integral to maintaining timely consultation, efficient coordination, and excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluation and management of inpatient radiation oncology consultations and follow-ups
  • Assist with pre and post procedure management
  • Independently evaluate and triage patients
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Nurses, Advanced Practice Providers, and Consulting Services.
  • Support care coordination, patient flow, and documentation


Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be NCCPA certified and possess or be eligible to obtain an active applicable New York State license.
  • Ideal candidates will have prior oncology experience, although highly motivated new graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, strong clinical judgment, and demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a high-acuity environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
