Location: Aurora, Colorado
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; rotating weekends and holidays
Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, seven days a week
Compensation: $60-$79/hour, based on experience, plus bonus opportunities

Position Summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Aurora, Colorado.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced clinician who values autonomy, variety, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Full-time clinicians typically work three 12-hour shifts per week, giving them more days off than worked in a typical schedule. Monthly schedules are released in advance, and there are no after-hours charting or follow-up responsibilities.

You will care for patients of all ages while working alongside experienced clinical teams, supportive peers, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages
  • Manage acute illnesses, minor injuries, and occupational health visits
  • Order and interpret labs, x-rays, EKGs, and other diagnostic studies
  • Perform urgent care procedures, including suturing, wound care, splinting, and incision and drainage
  • Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
  • Code and bill services appropriately
  • Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care expectations
  • Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Colorado Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
  • Nurse Practitioner: FNP certification through ANCC or AANP
  • Physician Assistant: NCCPA certification
  • Active DEA license or ability to obtain
  • Colorado prescriptive authority, as applicable
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages
  • Active BLS certification
  • EHR proficiency
  • Comfortable working independently in a solo-provider model
  • Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
  • DOT certification or willingness to obtain; fees are covered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
  • Comfort managing approximately three to four patients per hour
  • Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, wound care, and incision and drainage
  • Experience with initial x-ray and EKG interpretation
  • Occupational medicine or workers' compensation experience
