*Highland Hospital is seeking a Full Time APP to join its growing Surgical Services team. Candidates for this role will work a three (3), twelve (12) hour shifts per week, overnights. Some duties include but are not limited to: This position serves as an APP (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) in support - and under physician supervision - of the Neurosurgery, Plastics, Surgical Oncology, and Urology, Bariatric/Colorectal/General Surgery departments and/or divisions at Highland Hospital. This position has several areas of patient care responsibility that include Emergency, Inpatient, Ambulatory Surgery, Surgical Short Stay, and Observation patient care settings. Providers rendering care within the Emergency, Inpatient, SST, OBS (i.e. "Inpatient") care areas may also serve to orient and assist Residents during their training rotations at Highland. Emergency Room / ASC / SST / OBS / Inpatient Care Settings 37Conducts consults for assigned physicians consistent with medical staff scope of practice and delineation of privileges. 37Obtains detailed, accurate medical histories (including medication reconciliation). 37Performs thorough and comprehensive physical examinations. 37Performs daily rounds on assigned pre/post op patients. 37Writes patients' assessments, plans of care, and medical orders according to patient needs, standards of practice, and within both medical staff scope of practice and delineation of privileges. 37Performs bedside procedures consistent with medical staff scope of practice and delineation of privileges. 37In conjunction with other members of the health care team, provides accurate and timely discharge instruction and planning. 37Provides accurate and concise documentation of patient care provided. 37Clearly and openly communicates with attending physicians, consultants, fellows, resident physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. 37Documents charges for billable, professional services rendered that are congruent with accepted regulatory standards. Salary Range: $98,000.00 - $130,083.20 annually The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Job Requirements 1. Education: Fulfilled the requirements to be a licensed PA or NP in NYS. 2. Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in Surgical inpatient setting preferred; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply. Must have excellent proven communication abilities with all levels of staff including physicians, nurses, technicians, housekeeping, administrative and peers. 3. License/Certification Required: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the NY State Board of Medicine. NP's must have First Assist Certification in New York State. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required.
