This position is located at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL) Camp Lejeune, NC.

Civilian Physician Assistant (Family Medicine)

Salary: Up to- $116,362 per year

This is an employed civilian Physician Assisatant ( Family Practice) position that affords job security, a competitive salary, bonuses, moving expenses, full malpractice coverage, up to 26 days paid vacation, 11 days paid Federal Holidays, a sick leave benefit, CME opportunities, and a first-class health and retirement benefit package.

Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is a 246-square-mile military training facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Established in 1941, it is famous as a major amphibious assault training base.

Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant (Family Practice) you will perform duties such as:

  • Performs medical screening examinations in an inpatient or outpatient setting for patients of all ages.
  • Supports medical readiness by performing periodic health assessments, deployment health assessments, separation physicals, commissioning physicals, and retirement physicals.
  • Examines patients and performs initial patient work-up and assessment of patients' care and treatment, and determines the need for and orders laboratory tests, X-rays and other procedures necessary to complete assessment of the patient.
  • Diagnoses disease, illness disorder or injury; institutes treatment of patients; and seeks the advice of appropriate physicians for more serious or uncommon conditions.
  • Participates in all required processes including Medical Staff programs, accreditation/inspection preparations, and risk management activities as assigned.
  • Position may require incumbent to specialize in surgery, providing preoperative and postoperative care, and may work as first or second assistants during major surgery.


Qualifications

US Citizenship Required

At least one year of experience as a certified physician assistant treating patients in a Family Practice setting.

Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA), or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education.

Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification.

All Applicants must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
