Job DescriptionProvide expert clinical care for patients with Barrett's esophagus and associated disorders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive treatment plans.
- Engage in academic clinical research to advance knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
- Contribute to program development initiatives aimed at expanding and enhancing Barrett's esophagus services.
- Ideal Candidate
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Completed a Barrett's Esophagus Fellowship.
- Demonstrated interest in academic clinical research and program development.
- Strong commitment to education, innovation, and collaboration within an academic health system.

Jefferson Digestive Health Institute offers comprehensive services in gastroenterology and hepatology, including:
- Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy
- Motility and liver transplantation
- Specialized centers for celiac disease, IBD, complicated polyps, fatty liver, viral hepatitis, and liver tumors
Academic ExcellenceJefferson is a leading academic center with:
- A traditional GI fellowship
- Three advanced fellowships in Transplant Hepatology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and Advanced Endoscopy
Position ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Director will:
- Lead and grow the Barrett's Esophagus Program
- Manage a large cohort of patients across all stages of Barrett's care
- Utilize advanced imaging and therapeutic technologies including RFA, APC, EMR, and cryotherapy
- Drive clinical research and innovation in Barrett's Esophagus
- Mentor fellows and residents, contributing to Jefferson's academic mission
Qualifications- Board certification in Gastroenterology
- Eligible for or currently holding a Pennsylvania medical license
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced endoscopic imaging and therapies
- Strong interest in teaching, mentoring, and academic collaboration
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and research
