PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Purpose of Your Position
Provide physical therapy services to infants' toddlers, preschool and school age children for a minimum of 50 weekly sessions and conduct physical therapy assessments and evaluations.

Position Functions and Responsibilities 1.
Understands and promotes Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures. 2.
Provide mandated services to assigned children on caseload in compliance with IEP documents utilizing the resources of the clinical Director of Rehabilitation 3.
Participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team concerning the needs of each child as related to his/her mandated services and progress updates 4.
Work effectively with parents, teaching staff and other professionals directly involved in the care and treatment of the child to develop and monitor IEP services 5.
Use accurate assessment skills to perform functional evaluations with reports reflecting current knowledge and evidence-based practices and communicate results effectively in both written and verbal formats 6.
Maintain accurate record keeping and IEP/IFSP goal tracking documentation as required by SED/EI and policies for quality assurance and accountability purposes 7.
Responsible for providing input into and when appropriate fabrication of child's assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and orthotic appliance needs 8.
Serves as clinical instructor and assists with coordination of affiliation programs as needed for physical therapy students 9.
Actively participate in the creation and implementation of an individual and School wide Professional Development Plan that inspires personal growth and informs clinical practices 10.
Carry out standards for customer service; quality improvement; professional development; environmental, safety and infection control practices; confidentiality, corporate compliance and all other policies and procedures; attend all mandatory in-services to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices in working with students and their families 11.
Perform other tasks to support the operations of the school as assigned by School Administration
Position Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 1-year Pediatric Physical Therapy experience
2-year Physical Therapy experience required
Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree or Doctorate degree
NYS PT License and Registration Certificate Required
BLS/CPR Certification preferred
NPI Number Required
Employee Requirements:
Strong communication skills (verbal and written); good problem-solving skills; strong organizational skills; ability to relate to families and work collaboratively with other agency representatives
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently
Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies
Must meet the general health requirements set fourth by the policies which includes a medical and physical examination
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds
Perform tasks that may involve exposure to the children's blood/body fluids
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of children if necessary
Must hold valid drivers license and be able to travel safely throughout community
Working Conditions:
Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area
Will be subject to frequent interruptions
May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary
Scheduled Work Hours (Flexible):
8am to 3:30pm; or
8:30am to 4:00pm
35 hours work week
Salary Range:
$82,744.16/Yr. To $95,155.78/Yr. DOE
