Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist.
The PTA will implement selected components of patient/client interventions (treatment).
The PTA will obtain data related to the interventions provided and make modifications in selected interventions as directed by the physical therapist.
The PTA ensures patient/client safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.
PTAs assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
They work with patients who have medical problems or health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.
Patient care is provided in inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings.
The Physical Therapist Assistant reports directly to the Rehabilitation Manager.
Candidates must possess astute communication skills with various stakeholders.
The ability to adjust to job situations that involve different people and projects is essential.
Candidates should demonstrate independent action and judgment as required.
Physical requirements include the ability to operate necessary equipment and perform technical procedures.
PTAs must communicate effectively and professionally.
Supervisory and management skills are also necessary for this role.
Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible in this working environment.
