Job Description:



Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time, school-based position in the Tacoma, Washington area. This onsite role will primarily support an Early Learning Center, along with students at two additional school locations.

Job Highlights
  • Location: Tacoma, WA area
  • Position: School-Based Physical Therapist
  • Schedule: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Setting: Onsite only
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: June 23, 2027
  • Caseload: Early Learning Center and two additional school locations


Responsibilities
  • Provide school-based physical therapy services to students across multiple educational settings
  • Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Support students' mobility, motor development, positioning, accessibility, and participation in school activities
  • Develop and monitor goals aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, special education staff, and related service providers
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, mobility supports, and environmental modifications as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service records
  • Travel between assigned school locations as needed


Qualifications
  • Active Washington State Physical Therapist license
  • Must be fingerprinted and cleared through the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)
  • Ability to work onsite
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • School-based or pediatric physical therapy experience is preferred
