Vanguard is seeking an experienced, independent, and highly motivated Physical Security Intelligence Manager to lead intelligence efforts supporting the company’s footprint across the AMER region. In this role, you will be responsible for maturing and leading a regional physical security intelligence program supporting Vanguard’s site security operations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
As part of a globally integrated intelligence function, you will provide strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence support to protect Vanguard’s people, offices, operations, and events across the region. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape a developing capability, refine processes and product lines, and contribute to both regional and global security outcomes within one of the world’s leading investment management firms.
Core Responsibilities
Threat Identification and Assessment
Monitor, assess, and report on physical security threats with the potential to impact Vanguard operations, including civil unrest, crime trends, targeted violence, terrorism, and geopolitical or social developments relevant to site security.
Produce high-quality, timely intelligence products including threat assessments, executive briefings, site risk updates, risk forecasts, and incident-driven reports. Act as the regional subject matter expert for AMER sites, with a focus on identifying threats and trends that may affect Vanguard’s U.S., Mexico, and Canada operations.
Translate complex information into clear, concise, and actionable intelligence tailored to stakeholders to support security operations, site leadership, and executive decision-making.
Deliver horizon-scanning analysis to identify emerging risks and anticipate future threat developments.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with Site Security, Executive Protection, Travel Security, Business Continuity, Investigations, and other stakeholders to develop requirements and deliver a best-in-class intelligence service.
Build trusted relationships with internal business partners and external intelligence, security, and law enforcement contacts.
Brief senior leaders and security stakeholders on emerging threats and security risks.
Intelligence Program Development
Build and mature intelligence collection, monitoring, assessment, and reporting capabilities for the AMER region, with an emphasis on scalable processes, consistent standards, and measurable service delivery.
Lead development of the region’s intelligence service offering, including regional product lines, stakeholder engagement routines, requirements management, and reporting cadences.
Establish repeatable workflows to support incident monitoring, site-specific threat assessments, as-needed executive protection support, and emerging threat escalation across AMER locations.
Identify opportunities to improve processes with technology, automation, and open-source intelligence methodologies.
People Leadership and Performance Management
Lead, coach, and develop a small team of analysts, fostering a culture of critical thinking, professionalism, accountability, and continuous learning.
Set clear expectations, provide regular performance feedback, and support career development within the intelligence function.
Required Skills and Experience
At least 5 years of experience in physical security threat intelligence, geopolitical analysis, or a related field, with corporate or financial sector experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience assessing physical security risks across the Americas, including risks relating to targeted violence, terrorism, civil unrest, crime, and site security operations.
Demonstrated people leadership experience, including team development, coaching, and performance management.
Independent, proactive, and comfortable leading regional intelligence efforts while working across a globally dispersed team and supporting time-sensitive operational requirements.
Experience building intelligence programs, developing stakeholder requirements, and establishing internal and external partnerships that improve security decision-making.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills with the ability to produce finished intelligence products with minimal oversight.
Ability to transform complex information into clear, concise, and actionable intelligence products for senior decision-makers.
Experience briefing executive and senior leadership audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant professional certifications or advanced degree in intelligence, security studies, homeland security, international relations, criminology, or a related discipline.
Experience assessing security and reputational risk in a multinational private sector environment.
Experienced user of OSINT technology platforms and data visualization tools.
Professional network of industry, government, law enforcement, and security contacts.
Familiarity with intelligence cycle methodologies and professional training in structured analytical techniques and open-source intelligence collection. Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform impactful products on threat trends and forecasts.
Experience supporting crisis management or incident response operations.
Previous experience maturing an intelligence program through the development of new processes or procedures.
