About the Role

We're hiring a Physical Security Engineer to provide regional engineering leadership for physical security systems throughout the planning, design, construction, and commissioning lifecycle.

You'll serve as the primary regional engineering authority, working closely with architects, consultants, system integrators, and the Data Center Infrastructure organization to incorporate physical security requirements early in project designs and maintain them through final delivery.

Your work will help ensure every new data center is designed and deployed in accordance with Nscale's global physical security standards, improving installation quality, commissioning outcomes, and project delivery.
What you'll be doing

Design review and governance
  • Review architectural and engineering designs for compliance with Nscale standards.
  • Review security consultant designs, shop drawings, and equipment submittals.
  • Evaluate proposed changes to scope and specifications.
  • Serve as the technical approval authority for physical security design changes.

Cross-functional engineering coordination
  • Partner with the Data Center Infrastructure organization during planning and design development.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, system integrators, and project stakeholders throughout delivery.
  • Serve as the regional technical subject matter expert for physical security design and systems engineering.

Construction quality and issue resolution
  • Support engineering coordination throughout construction.
  • Perform installation quality inspections and milestone walkthroughs.
  • Provide technical support during construction and issue resolution.

Commissioning and operational turnover
  • Support electronic security commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate operational readiness and transition to operations.
  • Help drive successful customer acceptance and final delivery.

About You
  • 8+ years of experience leading complex physical security, critical infrastructure, construction, or technology deployment programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience delivering physical security systems for hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing cross-functional programs involving design, construction, networking, operations, procurement, and customer stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating commissioning, operational readiness, and transition to operations.
  • Experience working with security system integrators, engineering consultants, general contractors, and owner representatives.
  • Knowledge of access control systems, video surveillance, security networking, structured cabling, low-voltage systems, security design standards, electronic security commissioning, and system integration.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals for operational technology.
  • Genetec experience is preferred.
  • ASIS PSP, CPP, Genetec Security Center, PMP or equivalent technical program management certification, or BICSI RCDD certification is preferred.
