Photography & Editorial ManagerPosition SummaryThe Photography & Editorial Manager is responsible for leading the Photography and Editorial organizations, driving the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of customer-facing content across our digital experiences.This role provides strategic leadership for both functions by managing the Photography Manager and Editorial Manager while setting the vision, priorities, and operational direction for their respective teams. The Manager will ensure that photography and editorial content work together to create a best-in-class customer experience, elevating how products are presented across the website through compelling imagery and engaging written content.This leader will be responsible for developing talent, improving operational excellence, and evolving team structures, policies, workflows, and standards to support a rapidly growing, fast-paced business. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in both commercial photography and editorial content, combined with a strong track record of building high-performing teams and leading leaders.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership- Establish the vision and strategy for Photography and Editorial to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
- Continuously raise the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of photography and editorial content across customer-facing platforms.
- Ensure product presentation aligns with brand standards while supporting merchandising and business objectives.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement in creative execution and content production.
Team Leadership & Development- Lead, coach, and develop the Photography Manager and Editorial Manager while providing strategic direction for their teams.
- Build a high-performing organization through leadership development, succession planning, and ongoing coaching.
- Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Support employee growth by identifying development opportunities and creating clear career pathways.
Operational Excellence- Develop and evolve scalable workflows, policies, and standard operating procedures that improve efficiency while maintaining exceptional quality.

Customer Experience & Content Quality- Lead efforts to enhance the visual and written presentation of products across the customer-facing website.
- Ensure photography and editorial teams produce engaging, accurate, and customer-focused content that supports purchasing decisions.
- Leverage customer insights, analytics, and industry best practices to continually improve content performance.
- Partner with stakeholders to balance creative excellence, operational efficiency, and business objectives.
Cross-Functional Partnership- Partner closely with sales, tech, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to align content strategies with organizational priorities.
- Work with Product and Tech teams to advocate on behalf of team
- Serve as the primary leader responsible for coordinating Photography and Editorial initiatives across the business.
- Influence strategic decisions related to customer experience, content production, and creative operations.
QualificationsRequired Experience- 10+ years of progressive experience in Photography, Editorial, Content, Creative Operations, or related creative fields.
- Significant hands-on experience leading both photography and editorial/content production functions.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers and developing multi-level creative teams.
- Demonstrated success leading creative organizations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Proven experience developing scalable processes, operational standards, and creative workflows.
- Experience driving cross-functional initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
Knowledge & Skills- Deep understanding of commercial photography, studio operations, visual merchandising, and digital asset management.
- Strong editorial expertise, including copywriting, editing, content strategy, style guides, and governance.
- Exceptional leadership and coaching skills with experience developing managers and building engaged teams.
- Strong strategic planning and organizational leadership capabilities.
- Experience balancing creative quality with operational efficiency and business priorities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics and customer insights to improve content quality and team performance.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience leading Photography and Editorial teams within an ecommerce or digital retail environment.
- Experience managing high-volume content production operations.
- Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM), Content Management Systems (CMS), and creative workflow platforms.
- Experience implementing AI-enabled creative tools and automation to improve productivity while maintaining quality.
Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$86,800 - $150,100
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
